• Together we can stabilize housing for our low-income neighbors.

How can you help?

Charitable Contributions

Direct, tax-deductible charitable donations to a designated capital fund will contribute toward a down payment for unit acquisition.

Charitable Loan

By providing a 3-6% interest loan secured by a deed of trust, you can provide the financing for unit acquisition, helping the initiative build equity over time that can be leveraged for more acquisition.

Profit-Free Real Estate

For those interested in building their own equity, you can purchase a unit in our neighborhood of focus and master lease it to us following our Rent Cap model.

Camino Housing Solutions is putting housing stability within reach.

  • In our neighborhood of focus,

    • Newly listed market-rate rentals are more than 100% of the median household income

    • 73% of renters are spending more than half their income on rent alone, even though the majority are already doubled up due to high cost.

  • The average time our neighbors have called this neighborhood home is 20 years. They have built the social infrastructure that now serves as their primary social safety net - an essential asset for a low-income household.

  • No. HUD defines affordable housing as income-qualified housing that costs no more than 30% of household income. Affordable housing can often benefit from state tax credits and other federal benefits.

Camino Housing Solutions is providing accessible housing.

    • Currently, 73% of Renters are spending more than 50% of household income on rent. Much more, in fact.

    • Renter households with children are spending a median of 60% of total household income on rent.

    • We are going to bring that number under 50%. Camino Tenants may still be Housing Cost Burdened (as are 41% of all OC residents,) but they will no longer be Severely Housing Cost Burdened.
